How it works
1. Book Your Vehicle and Verify Your information
Choose a vehicle, select your dates, and complete your reservation. You will receive a confirmation with instructions. Then Before pickup, you must provide:
* A valid driver’s license
* Active liability and collision insurance
* Two emergency contacts
* A $100 security deposit (Square, Cash App, or Cash)
2. Choose Your Pickup Method
You may select one of the following:
* Contactless Pickup (Lockbox): Unlock the vehicle using the lockbox code.
* Office Pickup: Meet with a Yodel team member for an in-person key handoff.
3. Inspect the Vehicle Before Driving and Drive With Confidence
Walk around the vehicle and take photos of the exterior, interior, fuel level, and mileage. Report any issues before driving. Follow all traffic laws and Yodel policies. Mileage is limited to 150 miles per day. Smoking, pets, and reckless driving are prohibited unless authorized.
4. Return the Vehicle
You may return the vehicle using either contactless dropoff or office dropoff.
Make sure to:
* Match the fuel level
* Remove all personal belongings
* Take return photos
* Lock the vehicle securely
A 30–minute grace period applies for returns. Late fees apply after that.
The $100 deposit is reviewed during the return inspection.
Refunds are issued within 48–72 hours unless deductions are required.
Possible deductions include:
* Mileage overage
* Fuel shortage
* Cleaning or smoking fees
* Pet fees
* Damages or violations
* Late return fees

Yodel Mobile’s rental process is designed to keep your trip smooth, safe, and fully transparent from start to finish. We collect your license, insurance information, emergency contacts, and a refundable $100 security deposit to verify identity, meet Virginia insurance requirements, and ensure we can support you in case of an emergency. You can choose either contactless lockbox pickup or office pickup; both require a quick pre-trip inspection where you photograph the vehicle to confirm fuel level, mileage, and condition. This protects you from being held responsible for pre-existing damage and protects the business from condition disputes after the rental begins. Clear policies on fuel, mileage, smoking, pets, and late returns ensure fairness and keep vehicles clean and reliable for every renter. The return process mirrors the pickup—simply return the vehicle, take photos, and lock it—after which your deposit is reviewed and refunded within 48–72 hours. Every element of this process exists to protect you, protect the vehicle, and create a simple, professional rental experience backed by clear documentation and Virginia-compliant legal standards.
